Broome Oncology is just a phone call or a portal message away to get your prescriptions refilled that we have ordered for you. If you have an appointment and need your medications refilled, please let your provider or practitioner know at your visit. If you need your medications before you have an appointment, please call the office, during office hours, which are 8am to 430pm Monday through Thursdays, and Fridays 8am to 12pm. The earlier in the day you call will give the Providers time to send/eprescribe your medication to your pharmacy before the end of the day. If you call after 2pm on a business day, it might be the next morning that the prescription is sent to the pharmacy. We will always make every effort to send it on the same day that you call. One other important note, we close at noon on Fridays. Therefore, calling earlier in the week is best if you need your medication before the weekend.
Keep in mind, some oral medications may require authorization, based on your insurance or the medication that is needed. If this is the case, it can take up to a week to obtain a prior authorization and have it sent to your pharmacy. Narcotics and or pain medications are sent to the pharmacy in the same manner as any other medication. Again, please try to call before you are on the last day of your pain medication, as these may take a little longer to fill than regular medications.
Broome Oncology has a Physician and a Nurse Practitioner on call 24/7 including weekends. If you have questions or emergent refills, someone will return your call.
